## Faraday Case Recommendations

## What the Attacker Can Do to Prepare (Since They'll Read This)

Since this document will be committed to the Synastry repo and the attacker has demonstrated the ability to access Q's infrastructure, they will likely read this before the Flipper arrives. Here's what they might try:

### Precaution 1: Stop Deauth Attacks Temporarily

**Their move:** Stop sending deauth frames until after Q gets bored with the Flipper and stops monitoring.

**Our counter:** We don't get bored. The Flipper runs 24/7 in monitor mode connected to the apparatus. The WiFi Devboard captures continuously to a rolling pcap log on the Flipper's SD card. We set it up once and forget it — it's always watching. And the historical evidence (August 4, August 11 attacks) is already documented. Stopping now doesn't erase what's already proven.

### Precaution 2: Change Attack MAC Addresses

**Their move:** Use a different spoofed MAC for each deauth frame, making correlation impossible.

**Our counter:** MAC randomization doesn't hide signal strength or direction. The Flipper + directional antenna measures RSSI from specific angles. We walk the perimeter of the house, point the antenna in each direction, and triangulate the signal source. The attacker's physical location doesn't change even if their MAC does. Physics doesn't lie.

### Precaution 3: Move to a Different Channel

**Their move:** Attack on a different Wi-Fi channel than what we're monitoring.

**Our counter:** The WiFi Devboard + Video Game Module give us two simultaneous radios. We channel-hop across all 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels. Or we set Venus 5.0 to a specific channel and monitor that channel — any deauth targeting our BSSID will be on our channel by definition.

### Precaution 4: Use a Directional Antenna to Attack from Further Away

**Their move:** Increase distance to stay outside normal scanning range.

**Our counter:** Deauth frames require enough power to reach the target AP AND the target client. The attacker needs to be close enough for the AP to hear them. If they increase distance, their attack weakens. And we can attach our own directional antenna to the Flipper's SMA connector to extend our detection range. We can see further than they can attack.

### Precaution 5: Switch to Jamming Instead of Deauth

**Their move:** Use broadband RF jamming instead of targeted deauth frames, which can't be attributed to a MAC.

**Our counter:** RF jamming is a **federal crime under 47 U.S.C. § 333** with penalties up to $112,500 per violation and imprisonment. It's also detectable — the Flipper's spectrum analyzer can identify jamming signatures and log them. Jamming affects ALL devices in the area including the attacker's own equipment and their neighbors' — it's extremely noticeable and generates complaints that law enforcement can triangulate. If they escalate to jamming, they escalate the legal consequences.

### Precaution 6: Compromise the Flipper Itself

**Their move:** Attack the Flipper's firmware via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi while Q is using it.

**Our counter:** The Flipper stays in a Faraday case when not in active use. When in use, its Bluetooth is in scan-only mode (not discoverable). The WiFi Devboard runs in monitor mode (passive receive only — doesn't transmit). The Flipper's firmware is verified via checksum before each use. And the Flipper runs on its own hardware — it's not connected to M5, the Styx, or any apparatus node. Compromising it doesn't give access to anything else.

### Precaution 7: Stop Everything and Lay Low

**Their move:** Cease all activity and wait for Q to stop investigating.

**Our counter:** The evidence is already collected. The FBI report is filed. Brian Villanueva is identified. The Apple subpoena evidence is documented. The BrightData proxy ran for 13 months — that data exists on BrightData's servers. The deauth attacks are logged in hostapd. The MAC spoofing is proven. The unauthorized ADB access is documented with RSA key fingerprints. Stopping now doesn't undo any of it. The investigation continues with or without new attacks.

## Legal Framework

All Flipper Zero usage will be conducted under:

1. **FCC Part 15** — receive-only monitoring is legal without a license

3. **NRS 205.4765** — Nevada computer crime statutes protect the victim's right to investigate unauthorized access to their own systems
4. **47 U.S.C. § 333** — the attacker's deauthentication attacks violate this statute; capturing evidence of the violation is legal
